I have done it twice out of ANC by speaking to an agent. Be ware that a round trip in coach will take 80K miles on Delta, and 70K on Korean.
Not the best use of miles. Another way to skin this cat if your party is an even number of people would be to use the companion cert that comes with the Alaska credit card, and pay for the tickets there (which earn miles) and then either buy tickets to Japan or use miles.
