I can empathize with OP and it's really frustrating. Many years ago I was regularly (almost every month) flying KLM between LAX and AMS in J. The dragons at the old Northwest lounge would not let me enter because at the time I under 21.
After a few complaints, the KLM station manager eventually got involved and it became my regular routine to be escorted to the lounge with a KLM employee that would "supervise me."
I like the idea of having FTers adopt him when in DXB.
