There must have been a problem with the terminal and it reverted to signature as PIN as the CVM must've failed. I would try someplace else just to make sure there isn't a problem with your card. I don't think this is the case, but your PIN may have become locked. In this case, you'd need to visit an EMV enabled ATM with PIN services and look for the PIN unlock tool-just enter your PIN and it should do it all automatically. I don't think that is the case though, as you have to mess up entering your PIN so many times for that to happen. There probably just was an error in the merchant's terminal.
