The governments in the US, UK and various EU countries have been discussing the use of voice-recognition/voice-"matching" technology as a border control measure. [Some government contractors are licking their chops for more work.

The VRT matching attempts will be based on communications which are: (1) picked up by the NSA and its international and domestic team partners; or (2) otherwise provided/available to the governments indicated in the first paragraph here.
Even a turnkey totalitarian surveillance state wouldn't be infallible -- the border being no exception. Any bets on how many innocent people will eventually get hassled because of this approach to "border control"? Not sure, but I'm betting its harmless people who will mostly get hassled by this approach.
On the topic of border control using VRT, what happened to the following?
