I'm very much looking forward to this. YWG was my home airport growing up. That new airport is far nicer than the run down, 1960s era terminal it replaced a couple of years ago, but still lacks amenities on the transborder side. I have yet to fly out of the domestic side (and honestly probably never will).
My family used to have a house on the lake near Kenora, you'd actually have driven past our access road about 30 minutes before Kenora. I spent many summers out there as a kid. This might be the perfect time of year out there.
