How to Determine Longer Leg for Baggage Allowance

Called BA and was hold for a long time before I hung up. So thought of getting some feedback before I call again.

I am planning to book an itinerary from San Diego (US) to Colombo (Sri Lanka). The first half of the journey is on BA from SAN to LHR (1 piece of baggage allowance) and the second half is on Sri Lankan Airlines from LHR to CMB (2 pieces of baggage allowance) .

As many of you know BA says: "If your journey includes connecting flights with more than one airline, the checked baggage policy of the airline that operates the longer leg will apply."

The webflyer mileage calculator shows the following miles:
SAN -> LHR: 5470 miles
LHR -> CMB: 5410 miles

So will BA still be so precise and count SAN -> LHR as the longest leg or will they allow me to carry 2 pieces? Any thoughts will be appreciated.

I know if you fly to India from the US, you get 2 piece regardless of the length of the leg, but not sure if Sri Lanka is treated in the same way.

Thanks in advance.
