Without knowing any particulars, but departing BKK could explain it a bit? Being pushy (or even aggressive) is making it very uncomfortable for the service person in many cultures. It might have been done to help the lady "save face". If she acted outside what is socially acceptable in that context, staff could have agreed to assist just to contain the situatiuon.
