Agree. I am
4 of 4 on on LH upgrades using these coupons. Traveling mostly on U/H fares and on A380 routes (plenty of premium seats). Never seemed like I was getting the last seat, but I do make a point to run, not walk, to the LH lounge (not the Service Center) to request the upgrade during my connection - and have always been upgraded on the spot.
IMHO, while plenty to bicker about with the new UA, this is a great 1K benefit for those who have the need/option to fly LH
