COMP rooms are subject to availability with regard to all requests (bedding, smoking, view, suite).
It's actually unusual to get a smoking room since they are only 15%+/- of the available rooms and are usually more popular.
Personally, I would have asked to move "mid-stay." (or alternatively asked to be place at another AC CZR property) But, as we know, weekends can be very full in AC.
Most you can expect is perhaps some RCs for your inconvenience.
The only way to avoid this issue, on COMP rooms (CZR-Total Rewards) is to have a host block your room type prior to arrival. I've had this done in AC and Vegas (at CZR properties) and it's probably the only way to guarantee you'll get what you want (or shall we say, what you reserved).
