Confused about Avios
First post here so forgive me if I miss something.
I recently moved to the USA and BAEC transferred my account and attached it to my US residence where I use a Chase BA card. I retained the UK AmEx card and use it when back in the UK.
I then had a letter from AmEx stating that all of the Avios points earned on the card had been rejected from my BAEC account.
I spoke to BAEC a couple of times but got a different answer each time: 1) can't be done because of the exchange rate or 2) you can only have one account in one country or 2) open a new (second) BAEC in the UK and assign the points there though you can't have a household account in 2 countries.
Neither of those explanations or the 'solution' make any sense: I've earned the points properly; why can't they be assigned to my account? Can anyone here offer an explanation? I really don't want to lose the points. Thanks
