I think what he's trying to say is have 2 Wifi connections:
connection 1: connect to wifi from JAL
connection 2: create ad-hoc network to share
That sounds like it could be done. But really you'd have to debug that quite a bit on the ground me-thinks. or... you could just pay up for each person instead of breaking the T&C
