São Paulo
Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Mostly.
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Executive Club suite, but no upgrade as this was pretty much the best room available. And I guess due to the World Cup, all the rooms were the same price.
How are the rooms?
Large and modern. But nothing really special about this suite. The hotel is decent and functional, but kind of bland.
How is the Club Lounge?
Pretty nice with good food and service.
What was your welcome gift?
Don't think I got one, but someone did bring up some fresh flowers. And I got a free Caipirinha at the bar.
How was the mini-bar?
Poor compared to most other IC's I frequent. But adequate.
Did you receive fruit in the room?
Yes.
What was good and what was bad?
GOOD
Great location. The US Soccer Federation is here and the US team is a few doors down at the Tivoli. I'm happy they aren't here because the Tivoli is like a military fortress now.
Good Club.
The team here tries really hard to help. And the reservations staff were accomodating.
BAD
The team sometimes tries too hard to help. If they aren't good at something, they should let someone else handle it. This is the only IC in the world I've been to that didn't have good relations with their home airline. But I guess that no one can help with TAM. Still I would expect most hotel GM's to have a good executive connection with their home airline. That is the case at most IC's and especially important in developing nations.
Value for $ or Points?
Perhaps with a normal rate but with the WC going on, the room rates are pretty high.
Would you return?
If I needed to be in this area, sure.
