InterContinental Davos

What is your Priority Club status?
Royal Ambassador

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes, very much so!

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Deluxe King Room, upgraded to an Alpine Suite (!!!!), which is, to the best of my knowledge, the top room category available to book. (Not to be confused with 'Alpine Executive King / Alpine Junior Suite).

How are the rooms?
Room is HUGE.... VERY large entrance with double doors. Lounge area, dining area, Nespresso Machine, mini-bar, guest toilet etc. in a room to the left, and the bedroom, main bathroom, desk area and walk in closet in a room to the right. Each room has it's own respective temperature controls. All furnishings are top-notch, and of course, brand new. La Prairie bathroom amenities and 'IC Davos' lip balms. Balcony provided a breathtaking 180-degree view of the snow-capped mountains, Lake Davos and the town. The balcony was incredibly large - so much so that there were 4 separate 'table & 2-chair' settings, and they were not placed close together!

How is the exec. lounge?
Unfortunately, the Club Lounge was closed, as our stay was just prior to the start of the summer hiking season. During 'off season' when occupancy is expected to be very low, the Club Lounge is closed.... We did however, receive vouchers for each day of our stay for evening drinks at the Nuts & Co. Lounge, and we were also presented with a tray of canapés each night. The breakfast offering was amazing; ALMOST the best I have ever experienced!

What was your welcome gift?
A tray of Swiss chocolate truffles, a jar of Davos Alpine Honey, Alpine Water (large bottles of still and sparking) separate to the mini-bar, replenished daily, and a cute bear! All wonderfully presented on a wooden tray.

Did you receive fruit in the room?
Yes, a lovely fruit bowl - very full with a large assortment.

What was good and what was bad?

Good
- AMAZING upgrade
- Wonderful service throughout the hotel
- Property is brand new - opened late December, 2013
- Complimentary pick-up and drop-off to / from Davos Dorf station
- 'Davos Klosters' tourist card provided upon arrival - this was wonderful, as it gave us unlimited free travel on public transport within Klosters (buses, trains) and free unlimited access to the funiculars / cable cars / ski lifts that were already open and operating for the summer season

Bad
- Location is within close proximity to some walking trails, however if you want to get in to the town 'centre', there is a bus you can catch from the bottom of the driveway, however during low season, it's not terribly frequent. The walk from Davos Dorf to the hotel is pleasant, providing you haven't got too much to carry and weather permitting!

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
For the upgrade received - excellent value. Not sure if I would stay here during snow season - as transport to / from the slopes may be a little challenging with snow gear.... Would need to do my research first.

Would you return?
Yes, absolutely.
