understandable the property doesn't want to give suite upgrades for a 5 night stay; they could be selling it multiple times to other folks. I guess if you check in late and they pretty much see no chance to sell it anymore they are much more likely to give it to you. I have never gotten suites for such long stays, only 1-2 night stays.
