Not sure if it has been mentioned.. There is software update in the regular POS lanes too in Walmart similar to recent money center bill pay software update.. Cashier does not have the option anymore to choose "Debit" or "Credit".. Cashier can only choose "Card".. It "may" most likely not affect Visa GCs.. But if you are splitting between MC GCs to load BB, you have to swipe first, cancel, atm/debit, enter pin, then ask cashier to enter $200 (or whatever the split amount is).. It will not work if you ask cashier to enter $200 and ask him (or her) to choose debit ("card" now) and then swipe since the system automatically thinks your MC is credit card and will not give you a chance to cancel and switch..
One advantage because of this is - after you swipe MC, cashier does not have the chance to screw up by pressing debit before you cancel and switch.. Giving you enough time..
