I recently started Serve within the last week. I am using to meet the minimum spend on my Chase IHG Rewards card. After loading $200 the first day, I had been receiving an error message that would not allow me to load an additional $200 the next.
I had to call the provided 800 number for customer SERVE-ice. It took 15 minutes but they basically needed to confirm the Chase card was actually mine. So they asked me a few questions and then called Chase as well.
It is now working again.
I asked the CS rep if this would happen with every new card I linked to my Serve account and she said she didn't think so. I must have just gotten flagged for security purposes but hopefully this isn't a stain on my reputation with AMEX.
It will happen with every new card.
