Standby list consists of non-revs and revenue passengers who could not secure a confirmed seat. With so many empty seats shown on the map , it is likely that any revenue passenger will immediately get confirmed seat (unless there are many passengers with unassigned seats, as pointed out by MSPeconomist).

Thus, I would conjecture that the current standby list is comprised of non-revs only. The fact that the top of the list is also shown on BG and GF upgrades confirms this (lower on-revs often can't upgrade to upper class).

The gate agent will give the best remaining seats to non-revs. Thus, taking, for example, 61F (currently, 61E is empty) or (maybe) 53K, 51F, etc. might give an empty seat next to OP, unless someone else takes 61E. However, everything depends on the number of non-revs, and this number will be known from the standby list only very close to departure.

Also, the situation might change dramatically if many passengers from other flights will take UA838 instead.
