Didn't spot it was Bank Holiday - scrap my advice. Clerkenwell is more a weekday spot.
Stick to the Piccadilly line - the HEX is a bit of a rip-off. Find a nice pub around Brompton Cross (also off South Kensington) then everything is one place for you.
