IC Tokyo Bay

IC Tokyo Bay

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
No.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Deluxe room, got Deluxe Club IC Room. But without club access (hence no upgrade and against the t&cs).
Argued, got club access "as an exception".

How are the rooms?
Large floor space, but tiny room due to its layout. Oversized entrance, miniscule bedroom area for which the lazy chair is even too big. Average size bathroom, but small tub.
Non-working AC keeps the room at 25°C or above and the bathroom freezing.

How is the exec. lounge?
Small, nice lounge, but with virtually no service. Coffee for breakfast? Go get it yourself. Poor selection of food, pseudo-american stuff.
Did not much use the lounge for happy hour; one white wine and some unknown sparkling wine offered.

What was good and what was bad?
Good:

- There's a great barbeque (pork intestines) in 15 mins walking distance, close to Damon Station A1.
- Hamamatsucho station also in walking distance, which was convenient for arriving and departing HND
- Bottle of wine as welcome gift

Bad:
- Upgrade policy is against the terms and conditions of the program
- Executive lounge is poor
- Musty smell on the floors
- Inacceptable (wifi, wired) internet (the first hotel I could not conduct a GoToMeeting conference because the connection broke down every few minutes)
- The gym ("fitness room") is not accessible right now; staff could not help
- Second service is "on demand" - a demand which was not met on both nights. I haven't seen second service to be on demand on a club floor at an IC in Asia so far or a EU hotel not providing it after requested.

Value for € or IHG Rewards Club Points?Would you return?

Won't return, poor IC. RAs are a nuissance to them.
In this case, the hotel really lost big money from future stays.
