As to JFK, far from it - most of the time if it's 77x it's a 772, but it's very likely to be a 14F 772. As I read BASource, that means you have a 15:2 or 88% chance of new WT+ (assuming the flight is operated with an LHR-based aircraft). But you might end up with a 12F 772, in which case new WT+ is a 0% chance.
I don't think BA have anything like enough 77W to handle all the 777 JFK routes.
On a side note, it wouldn't surprise me at all to see a top up order for the 77W at some stage soon.
Seems from the suggestions here and on other sites that BA are happy with the 787, 77W & A380.
