Something interesting happened on my AA Account:

First card applied for was 60,000 bonus miles with $5K Spend. Met that on 1/10 and bonus 60K posted plus the $5K mileage miles.

Second card applied for was 100K bonus miles with Statement Credit. Those posted fine on 02/11. I met the $10,000 spend

The interesting part is that on the first card, I had requested the Bonus match of 40,000 miles and the $200 Statement Credit. I spent the additional $5K and that $5K posted as mileage but also I received 20K additional mileage miles.

So, for spending only $20,000, my account posted as reaching $40,000 spend to receive the 10,000 Elite Qualifying miles. Those 10,000 are posted as Elite. The additional 20,000 Miles posted as Purchase Miles, getting me to $40,000 spend.

Pretty much got the elite miles for only spending $20K total over both cards.

DIdn't know if anyone else has experienced this.
