Specifically, i have 2 $500 gift cards to the Wynn and i was hoping to just hand them over at check in to take care of a big portion of our expected bill. i know i could use them at restaurants and the spa but something about not having to carry around gift cards and being able to just make a room charge seems easier.

I have done this several times at RC's and Four Seasons and never had a problem. I've also been able to switch to a non-amex card the times I've wanted to without a problem.
