how come they don't publicize this? I asked CSR that was assisting me and said they do this for customer convenience , but how can it be convenient if no one knows about it?

Funny you mention "why don't they publicize this"....the CSRs barely acknowledge it's an option.
For 1.5 years I've gotten the "you can't make a payment" message.
Just this past week, the CSR gave me three other options before she said "oh yeah, you can pay with a debit card".....!!
