Another number you can call is 866-668-9011. They're only open from 9AM until 5:30 PM central time, but they were helpful. The CSR I spoke to wasn't aware that this problem of miles not posting was widespread, but she put me on hold, talked to someone and confirmed that the issue was caused by known systems glitches on the AA side (not Citi). If you provide the last 4 digits of your card, the posting dates (statement dates) for the missing miles, and the number of miles, the AAdvantage folks will "open a case", research it and eventually make sure that your miles post. The CSR didn't think it would take long, but she was just guessing. Whenever my miles post, I'll post to let people know how long the process took. I'm waiting for 53,000 miles, so I hope I don't have to wait more than a month.
