She said that I have to call reservations (1-8006543131) to be sure but that is to expensive since I have to call them from Europe.
This company is so unorganized. I never experienced something like it. Every time you contact them, they give you a different answer. The reservation system is also completely unclear.
I'm in the same situation as you. I'm trying to figure out if the gold CDP still waives the fee. I suggest you to send them an e-mail, and then print out their response and take it with you when you pick up the car. (If they say that it will be waived)
Alternatively, I might try to become a member of USAA. They also seem to accept foreigners. But you have to call them to sign up. You could also look into that.
