Asiana head office said EK definitely should interline out of DXB as they DO have such an agreement. I've yet to call Emirates airport office at DXB but would appreciate any updated info from last year on this post. We also don't want to get visas for a 6 hour transit.
Differing advice also about printing out BPs: DEL Transit Desk won't accept them, I've read. But, would it not be better, at least to get the OLCI passes
to show the DXB agents?

Whether or not EK is capable of interlining ( as per comment by Asiana ) is not necessarily the relevent element
If booked on a through ticket travelling on EK and then connecting to another airline, then EK should check the luggage through
If booked on a separately ticketed itinerary, then there is no obligation on the airline to check the bags through; in this case assume that the airline will not check the bags through and plan accordingly; if on the day, the check in agent is prepared to check the bags through, then just makes for an easier transit
