SV RUH/JED Transit or Go LHR-SIN?
Okay, so I'm getting ready to fly to MNL and am looking at two options:
The first is on SV IAD to either RUH or JED with a 10-12 hour layover in each then onward to MNL. Total transit time: about 33 hours. This I can get for about $700 o/w.
The second option is via SQ starting IAD (on VirginAtlantic) to LHR (6 hour stop) then to SIN (2.5 hour stop) and then to MNL. Total transit: about 31 hours. This trip costs $1200 o/w.
I'm asking because it seems that the Saudi airports aren't too transit friendly and their transit visas to tour around the cities seems to be quite difficult to get (especially since I'm planning on departing Thurs or Friday this week). The additional $500 isn't that significant (but it is inconvenient).
I'm really looking for the most comfortable way to travel.
