The shore is sandy. There aren't rocks or ironshore to hurt your feet. I didn't swim because I spent all my time diving, so my advice might be not that useful.
I pretty much went barefoot the entire time.
We use water shoes only for rocky beaches ashore and underwater so you've answered my question. Thanks! ^ That buys us a little more room.
