New IHG Best Rate Guarantee - Discussion & Feedback

Thank you for writing back.

Returning to the Terms and Conditions of the program; clauses 6 and 11:

6a. Matching Prices. For multi-night stays, the Guarantee compares the average nightly room price and the average nightly total room cost for your valid room booking with those found on a non-IHG website.

6b. Matching Prices - Currency Requirements. The currency of the hotel controls the comparison with the room price and the total room cost on the non-IHG website, and the room price and the total room cost on the non-IHG website must be available, viewable, quoted, booked, and paid for in the currency of the hotel.

Verification of Claims. All claims are subject to verification by IHG. IHG must be able to verify the lower room price and the total room cost (and, for multi-night stays, the average lower room price and the average total room cost) found on the non-IHG website at the time the claim is processed and verify that both the room price and the total room cost at the time of verification are lower than those found on IHG’s websites. IHG does not accept screen shots of imagery of lower prices provided by guests due to the ease of modification or alteration of such imagery.

Upon checking, the average nightly rate booked from our IHG website is for CNY xxx (Best Flexible Rate); which is the same rate package found at xxx. Said room price does not include corresponding taxes and fees.

Also, as stated on the above-mentioned clauses, we do not acknowledge screenshots as proof that the lower rate has been found. The lower rate should be available and bookable at the time of our verification process.

Thus, due to this reason, we are still unable to extend the Guarantee for this claim.

Those bpg people has no basic dignity nor shame.

Their screen shot on their first email pointed at a rate half way down the page and calling it the lowest rate, I just want to laugh.. Now they are saying "subject to ihg verification", someone seriously needs to write an article because they think they can treat customers like 5-year olds without no basic respect
