Agreed, at least for the rooms we stayed in. Windows that open are more and more of a rarity in modern hotels, leading to unfortunate dependency on whatever the property's heating/cooling/ventilation system delivers.

We like our room cool and I can confirm that the air conditioning was operative at both hotels to the extent we could lower the temperature to below 20 C (68 F) degrees. ^
