Flew the new seats PDX - EWR on Friday night and didn't have a single complaint about them. In fact, I noticed that I had significant discomfort sitting in the old style seats from EWR - PDX on Saturday evening. FWIW, I didn't recline, nor did the person in front of me, so that may have impacted things. YMMV.
