USA is probably the country that I have to "enter" most frequently as I pass though from Europe to South America. I wouldn't say that the USA is intimidating. I'd call the process slow, clunky and at times senseless, but they are on the whole courteous and not intimidating.
Given yesterday's news that Gulf States are thinking of testing homosexuality at their entry points. I think the USA will have a run for its money in the coming years
