I received an unsolicited application form in the post yesterday, which also says "plus you can take advantage of 17,000 bonus Etihad Guest Miles if you spend £1,500 within the first 90 days of account opening ..... you must apply by by 31st October to be eligible for the additional 12,000 miles".
Signed up today by phone. The MBNA rep explained that a total £1,750 spend gets 5,000 + 12,000 miles in the first 90 days. This extra offer is not on Etihadairways.com and might be invitation only.
