Issue
Seat in first class didn't work properly, not even the manual controls. FA's spent 20 mins trying to get it to be flat, but then it stayed in the bed position for the remainder of the flight
Compensation
Sent a note to customer service and they offered be 5,000 AAdvantage miles.

This was an award ticket, but I don't think 5k miles is enough compensation for a malfunctioning seat in First class. Thoughts?
