Free flights and stays and earn status?
Sorry if this is a silly question. I'm working on learning the game and appreciate all the info on this forum. A lot of the info on here is about flying for free and staying in hotels on points, but it also seems like a great many people here have status in airline and hotel programs. As far as I can tell things like reward flights don't count toward status milestones. Am I missing something here or do many people with status earn it through paid work travel instead of the award travel and credit card bonuses?
