I prefer not to use the 2-prong plug anyway and just use the single plug in the larger of the two jacks. Yes, you do sometimes have to jiggle it a lot, unfortunately. (FWIW, PMUA pax often got e-certs for this on longer flights--guess that still didn't incentivize UA to fix the problem.)
