If AS website shows reward-saver availability (or whatever Alaskan call their cheapest rate rewards), then you can call BA and book with avios.
The avios rate will be based on BA's distance charts and so not the same number as AS miles.
As it is not an online function it is probable you will be asked for £25 pp booking fee (if not a BA Gold).
