You should be able to do a practice booking even without the miles.
Taxes on AA domestics are really low.
OKC-LAX 10000 Avios + £1.60
LAX-HNL 12500 Avios + £1.60
It shows the prices in pounds as I'm a UK resident. Presumably they'll bill US residents in dollars. It'll likely be $2.50-$3.00
