I just did JFK-IAH-PEK two weeks ago, the service is pretty standard. better than UA for sure. I would say service is improving over the last few years comparing to my last flight from PEK-SFO on CA. Biz cabin is almost full, have no idea on econ. Food is typical Chinese food plus a western choice, good if you appreciate chinese food. forget about the western choice. Limited selection of movies, music, tv shows on AVOD. Im not sure which cabin you'll fly, but overall I think it's good given CA's bad reputation in the past.
