I can tell you my ride in the Stinson Trimotor was fantastic - but the opportunity to empower deserving young men and women who wish to become part of the next generation of pilots is a thrill and important.
It is becoming ever more expensive to join the ranks of commercial pilots - and the FAA just raised the ante on the minimum number of hours one must have to join the ATP ranks.
Regulations now require airline flight crewmembers, including first officers, to hold an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate; airlines raised their minimum flight time requirements to 1500 hours.
As I think about the upcoming anniversary of the tragic day of 11 Sep 2001, and of those we lost on the ground and in the air, it energizes me to know how many of us care and are contributing to this cause in memory of Capt. Dahl. And a big hats off to Capt. Denny for honchoing this - not to mention Capt. Steve for coming up with the simulator time.
