Ahh gotcha. Conversely, I would be compelled to close some because I'm absolutely at my internal limit with Citi. After getting approved for the 40k biz with a $1k CL, I'm guessing my remaining exposure limit with Citi HAS to be close to $0. I can only open a $5000 Visa Signature by moving credit so many times before I've reached the minimum credit limit on the existing open cards. In that case I'd rather close them in advance rather than risking denial because they won't close an open card to transfer the exposure...
