Nowhere has Hyatt ever claimed that the requirements for Diamond are Platinum + 20 stays. The requirement for Diamond is 25 stays or 50 nights. That requirement is not changed or waived if you happen to be granted Platinum status by virtue of a credit card.
You do get special stay/night credits based on the amount of spend on the credit card. I think it was $20,000 spend a year that earns you a "bonus" of either 5 stays or 10 nights towards requalification.
