Is is possible that the POS collects the cardholder name and uses that as part of the velocity check? The information is obviously available each time you swipe and would account for the purchase being denied even when using different cards. Does anyone have any AU or employee cards to test this out?
I will give it a try next time I stop by 7-11. Some of my cards display my full name while others have a shortened version of it.
