I've often flown from UA SFO-PEK with an Air China codeshare from Beijing to destinations in China. Alas, Air China has a nasty habit of cancelling flights domestic flights.

What would happen if I just jumped on a train in Beijing? Would UA still try to cancel the return, even though the connection is cancelled?
