AA does not permit you to transit a third zone on a one-way award from North America to Asia 1. If you want to fly on CX, you would have to transit Asia 2 (HKG), which would require two separate awards.
And while AAdvantage miles can be
redeemed for travel on CX (at AA's redemption rates), AAdvantage miles cannot be
converted to CX miles (at least, not without substantial depreciation).
