Yes. Different booking codes have different restrictions and offer different benefits. "Higher" booking codes have shorter advance booking windows and, in this case, offer more EQP. Hence, there is a difference in price. Getting more costs more. In some cases, they will even try to charge the change fee for an upfare like this, but it appears that this is just the fare difference for the higher code.
