Rooms Classified as Deluxe Prior to Cruise
I've had this problem w/ this hotel in the past. I couldn't seem to redeem Starpoints for rooms the night before a cruise (Fri/Sat nights). The hotel classifies their remaining inventory as Deluxe (higher floor) and don't have to offer them up for award redemption. When I inquire about their occupancy levels, it's clear that they have more than just the top two floors available.
I didn't get far when talking this w/ Starwood Corporate/Customer Service as the hotel's not violating any rules by not offering a 'Deluxe' room for points even though the reps are all aware of what's happening.
Hopefully this issue gets resolved -- I go through this every spring. They shouldn't be able to reclassify a room to a different type.
