And I suspect that the OP's flight was incorrectly coded as a "Refreshment" flight in F on aa.com. The food service that the OP received qualifies, at a minimum, as a "Snack," if not a "Lunch." I'm guessing that whoever is responsible for coding the meal service for AA flights on aa.com dropped the ball here.
