Similar question, I need to get to BKK from PVG.
One of the options is China Eastern on 767 leaving PVG at 10:20pm, getting into BKK at 1:20am. $481 for business class, which I would be willing to pay.
Two alternatives are:
1) PVG-SIN-BKK on SQ. Red eye, lie flat seat on 772, but costs 30K SQ miles + $186 (ouch!)
2) PVG-BKI-KUL-BKK on MH 738. Also, red-eye, and 4 hour layover in KUL. Cheapest route at 22.5K AA miles.
Am I too crazy to consider 2) route?
