This is like the worst parts of the WN program and the UA program, all rolled into one.

You see, on WN, high spend will get you status, regardless of how many miles you fly. On UA, you can buy a lot of full fare F, C, or Y tickets, and get hardly any progress toward status, compared to what you're spending. But on WN, high mileage, low fare tickets get you absolutely nothing, while on UA, you at least get those to count for status.

This? It's the worst of both, rolled into one. However, at least they're counting partner spend, if UA tickets it, and surcharges and fees, unlike DL.
